Una nueva casa para CASA

Architect's vision
CASA Latina has found a new home!
In March of 2007 Casa Latina purchased a property in Seattle’s Central Area. We have hired Johnston Architects to manage the renovations of the existing building and design a new building that will house all of our programs when completed. We expect to move to the neighborhood in the fall of 2008. For more information about CASA Latina and our move, please see our Relocation Fact Sheet (pdf).

Community Outreach/Good Neighbor Agreement
From August 2006 to February 2007, informational meetings were held with about 30 neighborhood leaders and groups. In 2007 CASA Latina took the initiative to create a Good Neighbor Agreement. The committee formed to draft the agreement was comprised of community members and representatives from several neighborhood organizations and businesses. The committee met ten times between June and November 2007, and signed a final Good Neighbor Agreement (pdf) in January 2008.

Capital Campaign
We are more than halfway to our goal of four million dollars! To learn more, please take a look at our Capital Campaign Q & A (pdf). Contact Marcia Almquist (206.956.0779, x19) for more information about how to get involved with Building Opportunities at CASA Latina.

Construction Timeline
Phase I of construction (to renovate the existing building) is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2008, allowing our administrative offices to move to the new site in the fall of 2008. Phase II (construction of a new facility that will house all operations) will begin in late 2008. We expect the construction of the new building to be completed in 2010.
