We are community builders
Education and hard work are building blocks for safe, stable and prosperous communities.
Casa Latina is dedicated to providing immigrants with educational opportunities critical to their integration as well as the labor skills that help to support them and their families.Every year, more than 750 immigrants enroll in our programs. In addition to our well-known work with day laborers, we offer a range of programs for immigrant women and families with children. We focus on three areas:
- Education — We teach English language classes for immigrant workers as well as workshops on job safety, worker rights and consumer education.
- Employment — We introduce immigrant workers to employers and help workers develop their own small businesses or long-term employment relationships.
- Leadership — We develop stronger voices for Latino immigrant workers and families through civic engagement, immigration reform advocacy, women’s support groups, and day laborer organizing.
