Household Helpers
We give Latina immigrant women the means and opportunities to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
Our Household Helpers Project, which began in 2007, helps women gain and retain jobs to achive economic stability, while empowering them to increase skills and build relationships for future employment opportunities. The program includes financial literacy and English-language training programs, as well as weekly meetings during which women discuss job challenges and work on alternative strategies for gaining more control over their work environment.
Through the Household Helpers Project, women build skills in order to move from dependence on the program to place them in domestic jobs to the ability to build relationships with customers and seek out their own jobs.
